less than 1 minute

Have you ever just looked around as you drive your car?  Ever looked, really looked, at the green of the hedgerows, the grace of trees, the blue blanket of the sky?

Today, I looked and my heart wooshed in grateful thanks.

And it felt good.

It took me back to more simple times.

Nature and I have been friends, always.  I visited her daily as a child, lying on my back in some sweet English meadow, picking four leafed- clovers and looking up at the summer sky:  scrunching my eyes to see the small shapes of larks singing overhead, feeling…elated and small and safe, all at the same time.

I’d be gone for hours.

When I got home my Mum would ask me what I’d been doing.

“Nothing.”

I didn’t know that I’d been doing something… loving my world.
