Why Loving Yourself Changes The World.

Everyone wants to be loved.  Even those whose very actions seem to be the entire opposite of love may well be crying out for just that…to feel loved.

For some, they seek the love they never experienced as children, for others they try to recapture that unconditional love they did have as a little one.

Love can move mountains, rise above the most seemingly insurmountable difficulties, knock down walls, open doors that appear shut tight and gulf the greatest chasms.  It’s no wonder that everyone wants to experience it.

Love is the stuff of the universe.

Who doesn’t want to live in a more beautiful and loving world? Many of us want to support change for the betterment of our current world and there have been, and are, lots of wonderful people all working towards the worthy aim of making our world a better place.

I vote for that.

As Rumi said: “Yesterday I was so clever so I wanted to change the world, Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

We Get Who We Are

As we generate love within, we radiate it outwards and attract it back in spades.

Seeking love, wanting to be loved means we have an energy of NOT.  Seeking someone to love us means we’re going to be disappointed.  Yet, seeking or wanting something isn’t all bad.

What?

Is she nuts?  She’s just contradicted herself.

Well I might very well be nuts, but this isn’t a nutty statement, it’s simply how the laws of life operate.

Creation, the Universe, call it what you will, always says yes.  It operates in complete harmony with who we are and if we’re living in the energy of not having…be it love…or stuff…anything…we experience our life in total harmony with that vibration of energy.

Negative or positive harmony…it doesn’t matter.  Our feelings will draw towards us the very things that we give our attention to. Consciously or not.

So how is this a good thing?  Because we’re being given an opportunity to take a look at where we currently are versus where we want to be and we then get to make adjustments.

Not being able to see where we are on the scale of our being, means we’re stuck getting the same ole same ole.

love-yourself-quote

If Wanting or Seeking Isn’t Working, Then What?

Begin by loving what’s happening in your life, because being aware is the first step to choosing something different. Love it, and you’re cultivating love.

Remind yourself daily that you’re growing in giving and receiving unconditional love.  Having the concept of love at the forefront of our minds means that we are resonating and radiating loving thoughts and ideas and feelings…and we know what that brings.  Yay, more things to feel love for and more love in our life and in our world.

Now you’re talking.

Your task is not to seek for Love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.  – Rumi

Cultivate Self Love

Keep love in your life by cultivating unconditional love of you.  If we don’t see ourselves as worthy and deserving of all good things, including love, well how can we experience it?  Love is the highest level of consciousness that we can operate in.  It’s the Divine in action and we get to participate in it to the degree we have it in ourselves.

All the vibrational energy we radiate creates the outcomes, the experiences, the events of our life.  And all the energy sent out by the peoples in the world, including us, creates our world.

How Loving Yourself Helps the World

What is love? I view it as the desire to support a person in all that they can be.  Supporting and allowing a person to grow spiritually and emotionally.

What’s it not is, I only love you if…or I love you when.  Yet that’s how we treat ourselves.

Think of the things you say to yourself…those secret inner conversations about all your shortcomings, your imperfections, your lack, your impatience, your failures.

If we want to change our life and if we truly want to live in a more wonderful world it must happen within first, with every thought and feeling we entertain.  Begin to love your mind, your body, the world around you.  This isn’t a self-centred philosophy, this is truly how we change our own little world.

We’re not saying, to hell with everyone else…what we say is…I am filled with love and because I’m connected to you and I’m radiating love and not negativity, you are on the receiving end of the love in me.

This is how loving ourselves can change the world.  Because what you radiate automatically seeks it’s vibrational match…like attracts like…and magnetically draws to you something or someone that’s in vibrational harmony with the feelings you radiated.

And better still, it comes back multiplied and flowing over…in other words stronger.

Oh yes…this goes for both positive and negative feelings.

If we could but occupy this state, even for a short time every day, we’re occupying the highest vibration possible.  That of unconditional love.

Connect this to the thought that as you embrace loving yourself you’re elevating not only your consciousness but that of the rest of the world which is being elevated right along with you and then you’ve entered a place of immense possibility, a place of a brighter and better world.

And because the creative power in us always answers our call, as more and more of us operate from the place of love of self, of others, and of life we will all see and experience a more magnificent world.

Wow.

Thank you.

What say you?  Do you have any brilliant thoughts on loving yourself…we’d love to hear them. You could very well have the one thought that makes a HUGE difference to someone in our global community.

Encourage one another.

Love Elle
xoxo

Love this line – ” Remind yourself daily that you’re growing in giving and receiving unconditional love.” When we love ourselves first, we then able to give love to others. Inspiring, Elle, thank you.

Love does make the world go around Elle. You are right that love has to start with ourselves. When we can love just how we are made and not try to be someone else we can see the good and love in the world. And if we would all operate on the plain of love it would be a very lovely world indeed.

I’ve said before that developing a joyful spirit is the most socially responsible thing we can do. Self-love is an essential part of that. It’s hard for people to accept this because it seems selfish, but as one person said to me, it’s Self-ish–a very different concept!

    • Elle says:

I like that Galen…a socially responsible thing to do…great phrase. And isn’t that true Self-ish is so different than the way we usually see the word. 🙂

It can be hard at times to love oneself and takes continual practice, but it can be done. The best moments are when we are fully in tune with ourselves and give ourselves what we need. It reminds me of the Nelson Mandela quote.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, “Who I am to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

    • Elle says:

I’m never certain if this is a Nelson Mandela or Marianne Williamson quote Sebastian…but whoever said it really hit the nail on the head with this one. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂

I so love this post, beautifully written and so true. I feel like when I love myself fully, the love overflown and I can easily share the love to those around me and guess what, the universe blessed me with this new love that is just amazing. 🙂

    Another great article, Elle.
Every action/thought/experience can be distilled down to one of two things.
At the very base, will be either LOVE or fear.
We are generating either LOVE or fear.
And by following your beautifully crafted article’s tenent, as we turn from fear and embrace LOVE for ourselves we find LOVE more fully expressed and experienced in our world.
    Excellent . . . thank you.
    Write on, Elle !

Yes! We are a bit like a Divine Radiator, giving out what we really are inside. If we are love, we radiate it to those all around us and thus we do change the world; at least the part we touch. Oh, I used to be a love book keeper way back in the Old Dore times. That’s not love, that’s control and you make a great point on real love being unconditional, never seeking to control another.

    Good job you!

    So right you are Elle
The entire universe is goverened by law.Much as we may like to believe it, the universe is not an amalgam of haphazard chaos. How things are attracted to each other ,particularly at the non physical level, is dictated by The Universal Law of Attraction.
It states “we attract whatever we choose to give our attention to–whether wanted or unwanted”.What it, very simply, implies is that our attention is extremely important.
So whenever we love ourselves we inevitably contribute to this” giant circle of love” surrounding the cosmos.
    Thanks

    • Elle says:

Welcome richmiraclefiles, love your phrase ‘giant circle of love surrounding the cosmos”. Mmmm mouthwateringly good. Thanks for sharing your perspective, it’s much appreciated.:-)

Loving ourselves is a great way to testify the law of attraction as well.

Self love actually completes the circle of love in the cosmos

Thank you Elle for the beautiful post. It is very true that everyone wants to be loved, so loving yourself make so much sense. Thank you very much for the uplifting post.

Yes, Elle, without self love we have no love to give others. Besides we are a creation of the Infinite One so who are we not to love ourselves…be cheeky not to!
