[success]The future must become the present in the imagination of the one who would wisely and consciously create circumstances. ~ Neville[/success]
Would you like to see diamonds where someone else merely sees rocks?
Would you like to be able to stop where you’re headed, take a moment to be aware, and then step onto a grand and glorious new path that’s incredibly successful and fulfilling for your life?
Would you like to recognize those defining moments when they come along instead of missing each wonderful blossoming opportunity?
C’mon on…you’ve gotta be saying yes.
I’m not going to say life is hard. Although sometimes it is.
I’m not going to say it’s scary. Although there are times when it feels that way.
I’m not going to say it’s filled with problems. Although every now and then that seems to be the truth.
I’m not going to say anything negative about life, despite the fact that I’ve had my fair share of truly, deeply, crazy negative experiences. Because regardless of the times my life was driving me crazy, all the while it was calling me to stand in the fullest possibility of my shining self. As it is you.
When it seems that life is driving you crazy it’s really calling you to think the higher thought. To dance with the divine in the way we are all meant to. To lead a life of your choosing, rather than the one you mostly unconsciously, built.
How do we answer that call when all we seem to see is how crazy life is and there are rocks, and more rocks as far as our eye can see? We want to believe in gleaming diamonds…but where the heck are they?
Firstly give up and give in
You can’t reform your world by forcing conditions to change.
Stop trying to right the ‘wrongs’ from the outside in. It’s a strategy that’s doomed to fail because you’re dealing with the effect and not the cause.
Every day brings a new invitation. An invitation to step up our game.
How could you love more?
Could you have a more compassionate heart?
How could you operate at a greater level of excellence?
Are you expressing a generosity of spirit?
Accept the invitation.
The universe is in league with us, it automatically adjusts our experiences to match us, to match who we’re being in this moment. We don’t want to learn how to cope with the ‘wrong’s in our life, we want to create entirely new experiences, safe in the knowledge that the universe or God or our source is our silent partner.
It’s not about the ‘stuff’
It’s time to forgo the notion that you’re living in a world filled with objects. I know, it looks that way and it’s not always easy to see it differently.
But we’re actually living in a world that’s filled with consciousness or energy.
That’s what we’re called upon to see, in order to find a deeper meaning and purpose in life.
What is it that resonates with your heart and soul?
Are you hanging on to a job you really hate, or a relationship that doesn’t serve either of you any longer?
Or are you simply miserable because everything that can go wrong has?
What is it that you could do that would allow you to live an authentic truth each and every day? Are you deliberately operating from the authentic you?
Maybe you view your reality as something that happens to you, despite your best efforts. Maybe you’ve bought into the notion that you’re powerless amidst all these trials and tribulations.
Time to get out the duster (dust cloth to some)
And get rid of the notion that you’re a powerless speck of dust in the universe. Oh no, brilliant souls, you are so much more.
Your desires are the language of spirit seeking expression, Honour them. If we fall, we pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and go back to the drawing board.
We need to know how to be the parent of our new diamond bright state. We need to learn how to use all the skills, talents and abilities that were our gifts from the get go, we need to know how to birth our new life.
Our imagination, our consciousness is the doorway to our heaven on earth…it connects the spiritual to the physical. And we need to use it to focus beyond our current experiences if we’re to be able to change them.
Working the percentages
We know consciousness consists of our conscious and subconscious minds. We know the conscious mind is the realm of effect and the subconscious responsible for cause. We know the conscious is able to select whilst the subconscious can only accept.
To be a master of our life experiences we need to understand how it all fits together.
And here’s something else it’d be good to know, which most of us probably didn’t.
According to Dr. Bruce Lipton, neuroscientists have shown that the conscious mind is responsible for only five per cent or less of what we get up to during the day, and that’s being generous.
Which means that our subconscious mind is running the show. We knew that didn’t we?
Our subconscious…filled with things we picked up as kids, beliefs that we inherited from others, ideas that we accepted about who we are that probably really suck…is running the show. Yikes.
It’s time to switch up those percentages so we can see more diamonds and less rocks. They are there…right under our noses…our subconscious isn’t yet programmed to see them so they don’t appear in our world.
The bottom line
We need to reprogramme our subconscious so that it’s full of great thoughts and feeling habits. And yes we can do this, and yes, it might take a while and I’ll talk more about this in the next post in the ‘what everyone needs to know about life’ series. ‘Cos there’s a lot of stuff to talk about.
For now, baby steps.
Let’s focus on being more conscious in the day. How about increasing what we’re conscious of by another five percent? It’s not too much to ask and could make a colossal difference to what’s going in in our world.
It is important to remember that not every thought is creative. Only those which are repeated and believed to be true, or those which are connected to feelings, create the circumstances and events that we encounter. That’s a great place to start.
Emotions are creative. Anger, fear, love or joy are creative . Let’s begin being more aware by consciously seeking things that are joyful, by noticing the circumstances that feel good, by giving thanks for all the lovely simplicities of the day. Relish those feelings and visit them as often as possible in your day.
Notice the difference between feeling sadness and dissatisfaction or feeling love and gratitude and guard your subconscious well. Be really careful of the emotions which you let in, just as you would be discriminating as to who steps into your home.
Your turn. Are you ready to up your game? What tiny step can you take? We can all encourage each other with new ideas, and you may just have the one that someone really needed to hear today.
Thanks for being so insightful and amazing and reading and sharing.
Encourage one another.
Love Elle

Hi Elle….I LOVE that quote by Neville! His ideas are always so clear. It is such a great reminder that any change comes from within AND we first have to “be” the change we want to see in the world. Thanks as always for the great reminders and inspiration in this post! ~Kathy
p.s. I wrote another comment that somehow disappeared so this is my second try!
Having spam challenges Kathy, so comments are being well and truly vetted! Glad we could sort it all out and you are so right about Neville…he’s totally clear and inspiring. Always appreciate you stopping by Kathy. 🙂
Elle,
What a fantastic post! I was actually going to write to you about this topic and here it appeared, at least how I interpret it. This reminds me of dating a person with low self esteem. you see and know how truly wonderful they are and you love them deeply, it breaks your heart at the way they treat and think of themselves, so much so that you must leave them so they can work on themselves. Because, you cannot give a person self esteem. They have to do it themselves, not matter how many talks you have with them into the wee hours of the morning, how many crises you help them through and appointments you miss for them. you know they are being ridiculous, yet cannot help being in the state they are in. Only life will lead them through the phases necessary to get the esteem they need, because that is one of the most important things. I wonder if that is how source feels about our trifles? In the grans scheme of things, they do not matter, because of the endless abundance and opportunity that can still come to us if only we meet with it, right?
Thank you, Elle, for being there! Have a smooth day!
Dearest A – as always your thoughts are filled with wise ideas. Feel free to contact me if there’s a topic you’d like explored further…I haven’t done this before…but I’m game if you are? Imho God, source, the universe, call it what you will simply knows the perfection that we all are – the end. 🙂
Hi Elle
I liked your idea about..”We need to reprogramme our subconscious so that it’s full of great thoughts and feeling habits.”
that’s thought provoking
Mona
Thanks Mona – I’m sure the thought isn’t original to me…we pick up so much good stuff along our life’s journey and then I suppose we just interpret it through our own filters…I’m glad my filter and yours are such a good match. 🙂
Great point about “stuff”. We see it all around us and we think it is the real world. It is merely the residue of our thinking, individually and collectively. Stuff is not the point of life!
Thanks for stopping by Dore’…always appreciate hearing your perspective. 🙂
Love this line, Elle – “And get rid of the notion that you’re a powerless speck of dust in the universe.” When we believe in our true self and act accordingly, positive change will have a chance. Thanks for a thought provoking post!
Thanks Cathy for your always encouraging words. Believing in our true self isn’t always what we’re good at is it? Do you have any extra tips on this one? 😀
Well done, Elle !
Talk about diamonds . . .
– it was calling me to stand in the fullest possibility of my shining self
– God or source is our silent partner
– your desires are the language of Spirit seeking expression, honour them
WOW !
I’m ready to try a reprogramme ! Thank you .
Write on, Elle !
Glad you like it Joseph. It’s good to be loved! Go for it kiddo, reprogramme away and thanks for the english spelling! Let us know how you do. 🙂
Elle-
Great post…
When I finally integrated the phrase ‘going downstream’, rather than ‘fighting up stream’, I took a huge step. I think that one was thanks to the Hicks.
I THINK- am not sure- but that we have up to 60,000 thoughts a day. If we are only using 5-10% of our consciousness, imagine the number of thoughts we aren’t even aware….
I love the phrase ‘Wake up and get your face out of the soup’… Fran
Great point Fran – who wants to be pushing our way upstream…we’re just resisting all the good things life has to offer. Let’s float downstream together. 😀
Elle,
Love the idea that the subconscious is more in control. How do we get in tune the subconscious though? How can we change it so it’s more at one with the life we want? Love the Neville quote at the beginning… plus I was just reading about Bruce Lipton! Very interesting stuff! 🙂
I think I need to write a post about that Betsy – it’s a great question one I remember asking a minister a looooong time ago. Bruce Lipton’s book Biology of Belief is a really interesting read. So glad you find him interesting too. 🙂
I originally wrote a half-tirade about the horrors of the universe, which was probably uncalled for. Because of a variety of reasons, I have a hard time believing that the universe is inherently good, and wants to help any of us.. but I do believe that you can place yourself in a position to be helped by your environment, should the need arise.
If you’re always caring, and try your damndest to help people out when they are in trouble, it is not unusual for them to return the favor. Even if the favors you did were always small, and the one you need is massive. And if you always excel at work, the boss will be more inclined to help you out. Whether that be a work day or two from home a week, or even an advance when needed. (And by excel I don’t mean working hard in your own opinion, I mean doing the job extremely well from the employer’s viewpoint)
So while I may not believe in the inherent good of the universe, in a sense you could say that I do believe in karma. Also, baby steps are the way to go! I’m still crawling on the ground for now.. but give it time and every step I take will change the orbit of the planet.
Hi Ragnar – I honestly don’t believe the ‘universe’ or any other outside source has any agenda for our lives. It simply is consciousness operating without favouring anything or anyone. We are the makers and builders of our life experience for good or ill which is why I absolutely agree with you that the way we treat others absolutely is gifted back to us, maybe not from the same people, but it doesn’t really matter does it?
Our limited consciousness allows us only to see the limits around us. As we expand our awareness through those baby steps, we begin to see there is more than we dreamed of…I know this from my own personal experiences…so my friend baby steps it is for us all and each time we reach the top of our current level of living life, guess what…there’s another level for us to aspire to. It’s an amazing adventure. 😀
Fantastic post! I am now in the habit of reminding myself to be conscious of my mood and thoughts in the present moment because sometimes its easy to be negative or miserable out of habit.
Hi Diane – I’m glad you enjoyed it and so appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Habit of thought is the greatest challenge for us all – mostly because we’ve been trained to focus on what’s wrong instead of what’s right. And as we grow into awareness of this…we find ourselves at choice and as you say it’s easy to stick with our habits of misery. Kudos to you for being aware. :_)
Yes I am ready to up my game and as i have been moving closer towards this my subconscious decided this was not a brilliant idea and has been giving me some grief this week. Today i am changing that- i have the choice and i am going to start by being kind to me and use one of the many tools i have to be brave and shine
namaste
Suziexxoo
Suzie you are so full of brightness and joy that I can’t accept you experiencing grief, so I won’t. You shine for me dear One. 🙂
I keep sharing your posts (and those from a couple of other bloggers) with my boyfriend. He’s lived in a town he doesn’t like for 10+ years to help his parents and is convinced there are no “good jobs” … and for him, there aren’t … because that’s the reality he’s created. I live in the same smallish town and have a fantastic, well-paying job (especially for our area) … because that’s what I believed and continue to believe. I do hope he “gets it” one of these days as the more I learn, the more I feel like he’s getting left behind. I feel like I’m getting close to an energy shift … and wonder what’s going to happen to “us” as he’s not really on the same playing field as me anymore.
Fantastic you Debbie. It’s always having ears to hear isn’t it. Till we’re ready to see, we can’t see. Till we’re ready to hear we won’t hear.
Love the idea of your energy shift, keep us posted on how it turned out and in the meantime just imagine the outcome being for the total best of everyone and it will be.
My next post, the one I’m working on now might be helpful…it’s a back to basics series on how our life operates.
I’m imagining continued wonderful things for you. 🙂
Great advice Elle. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Vinma, as always, not only am I thankful that you stopped by, but you took the time to say so. 🙂
I love the empowering theme of your posts. Yes, I do have the power to make changes – just have to deal with that pesky subconscious!
That’s so true Poppy. I’m always seeking ways to live my life more consciously, and reprogramme that pesky subconscious! 🙂
Your words are always truly amazing! I’ve learned so much from you and have actually put some of your wisdom to work in my life. Thank you, Elle!
Hi Cher, I’m happy to know that some of the stuff I write about is useful and helpful. We’re all learning together and writing about it helps me keep myself on track…especially at this time of year! 😀
Interesting, I never thought that I was running my life unconscious. My conscious mind always thought it was in charge. I guess I’ll have to work on that.
Right Linda. When I first read about it I remember thinking it makes so much more sense now. I think this is true for everyone who’s ever wondered why the heck did I do that? 🙂
I love this post, Elle! My mom has always reminded me of the importance of guarding the kinds of energy that I allow into my life. The subconscious, she would argue, is what runs the show, creeping into our conscious mind and defining our lives.
What a cool Mum you have Jessica. Tell your Mum she has a fan in me. 🙂
