Our life is a journey, a road we all travel, sometimes separately sometimes together, with detours and roadblocks and lovely, easy beautiful stretches. Each and every day I write with the intention to perhaps make the way a little easier, to encourage to inspire, to empower; to have hearts filled with hope and enthusiasm, perchance to bring a little smile, a little good cheer in the process.
Hey, I said good cheer…not cheers.
It makes our journey easier when we understand that all of life is governed by laws, and that includes us. If we want to change our life experiences we have to engage the laws of life, purposefully, deliberately, consciously. But first we need to have a basic knowledge and understanding of what these laws are.
There’s a basic principle that’s been written and spoken by our great poets and teachers throughout the centuries. These quotes pretty much say the same thing, but, if you’re anything like me hearing it said in a hundred different ways actually helps it sink in! Wait, you’re not like me, judging by the contests we’ve had on this blog, you are brilliant, creative geniuses. Oh well, for that one person out there who’s like me, here goes.
“If you see a difference between where you are and where you want to be – consciously change your thoughts, words and actions to match your grandest vision.” – Neal Donald Walsch.
“There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” – William Shakespeare.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” – Albert Einstein.
“Life consists in what a man is thinking of all day.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Aha, it’s all about, what and how we think. Yep, that’s today’s focus.
You might say all well and good, so now what?
A little technique that could help. Choose a thought…any thought that feels good, that’s focused on something that would be wonderful to experience and see if you can think it a thousand times today. No, not really a thousand times, just as often as you can without making it hard work.
For example, you desire success, perhaps a loving relationship, cash in the bank, or vibrant health, so you might choose the thought…It’s so great to have a ………….. whatever words work best for you and feel the excitement. Create your own little movie, with you as the star and write the script, because you’re also the author; then play it happily in your mind, as often as you can.
Now, you’re consciously, purposefully engaging the law of consciousness.
Encourage each other.
