[success] It is a delusion that other than assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled, you can do anything to aid the realization of your desire…The illusion of the free will to do is but ignorance of the law of assumption upon which all action is based. Your assumptions, conscious or unconscious direct your action to their fulfillment. ~ Neville[/success]

Once we get, truly get, that it’s our subconscious that as a ‘centre of divine operation’ does the work in fulfilling all our desires.  We can relax, right?

Apparently, not so much.  Our mind is still busily trying to work out how to make those dreams come true.  What if I did this.  Oh, wait a minute, maybe I should do that?  Nah, I tried that before and it didn’t work, what I really need to do is….noooooooooo.  Stop.

Recently I posted a picture of the Stickman, to help see how our conscious and subconscious operate together, as partners.

And just to lay things out, honest and truthful like.  In answer to that age old question what do I do next…absolutely nothing.  Not that I’m suggesting you sit at home rocking in your chair, or lounging around all day with a drink in your hand.  Although you might fancy doing both of those things…and honestly while you’re at it, if you’re visualizing your wonderful world, it probably would be helpful…just not all day, every day.

The thing to do is to go about your business in the usual way.  Whatever you did before you decided on experiencing this new great and wonderful thing, keep on doing it.  Because, let’s face it, if you currently knew what to do to get what you wanted, wouldn’t you already have it?  You’re just not operating in that vibration of consciousness yet.

It all works in a much cooler way anyhoo.  But first we have to disengage from that part of us that has to have all the answers now.  Synchronicity begins to occur, because we’re allowing our subconscious to do it’s job and not ‘messing in the middle’ as my dearest friend Susan likes to call it.

Things begin to happen seemingly ‘by chance’, people that we never even heard of before show up to help move us towards the fulfillment of our desires.  Joseph Campbell speaks of a thousand unseen helping hands coming to support us.  And that’s our subconscious at work.

The big ‘secret’ is in not knowing how the heck we’re going to get to where we want to go.  And allow that.

I have no idea how to fulfill my desire.  Great.

That makes it easier for my little mind, I can relax and truly let go, because I don’t have a clue.  So now the only way it can begin to get done, is by letting that inner power that resides in us all, do it’s work.  And let’s face it, it’s much better at creation than you and I.

Case in point.  One day I decided I wanted to increase the visibility of my blog.  As you all know by now I’m so technically challenged that if you were to ask me anything, and I mean anything, about how this internet stuff works, I’d stammer and stutter and mumble my way through some answer that would make a six year old throw up their hands in disgust at my ignorance.  Basically, I’m pretty useless.

Good.  You have no clue how to do this.  Check.

What’s next?  Okay, let’s imagine it happened.  How does that feel?  Pretty great actually.

Good.  You’ve connected to the feeling, you’ve united the mental picture with your feelings. Check.

Now what?  Persist.  Persist in what?  In daily imagining, repeatedly seeing your happy outcome. Check.

And then what?

Maybe you’ll get a new brilliant idea (it has to be new or it isn’t from the new state of consciousness) maybe, someone will show up with their great ideas.  Who knows.

In this case, I read something on someone’s blog about an internet class that really interested me.  So I signed up for it, only to discover I was blooming useless, big surprise that.

But it didn’t matter, I was taken through each piece step by step, great hand holding all the way, by the most wonderful woman.  And it turned out, she was the one who was going to work her magic to bring increased visibility to my blog.  Who knew?  I didn’t even know she was out there, until I made a choice for a new experience, and all manner of things moved to my aid.

I’ll tell you more about her in my next post, with a great giveaway for anyone interested.

Another experience of synchronicity or the creative consciousness at work in my life is Hawaii.

A few years ago we were the proud owners of a condo in Hawaii.  And that came about because I saw a photo of a waterfall in a house magazine and it was in Hawaii.  I loved the look of this place so I stuck it on my vision board.  I’d never really had a hankering to visit Hawaii, but this photo resonated with me.  I just liked to look at it.

Some months later, seemingly ‘out of the blue’…although we all know there is no such thing…we had the opportunity to fly off to Hawaii for a holiday.  We had waterfalls at the back of us, and the ocean, with whales, in the front.  Pretty perfect.  Nice place to live, we said to each other.

It rained every night.  A gentle soft rain and when we got back home, I would fall asleep listening to that soft gentle rain on my little bedside machine thingy, imagining us sleeping in that condo.  For no reason other than it felt good.  Remember feeling is the secret…so be careful what you’re feeling.

Long story short…we had a call from a neighbour in Hawaii…who was a realtor, telling us the place was for sale.

Woah.  Now what?  We had no clue how it could happen…after all we didn’t know anyone who was able to up and buy a place in Hawaii, let alone us.  But I just kept falling asleep listening to that peaceful rain.

And as Joseph Campbell said a thousand unseen helping hands came to support us.  It got done.  It’s a very weird thing.  When you don’t know how something is going to happen you sometimes can’t even work out quite how it did happen.

It just did.  Synchronicity works in our world, if we let it.

And that’s the whole point…best not to know how something is going to get done and live in sublime confidence that our inner power is soooo much better at this creative stuff than we are.

  1. Oh Elle, lol, I love this post. For more than one reason. To answer your question: Sometime during my 4th (and last pregnancy – knock on wood) I realized i didn’t want to go off to work and leave another baby behind to be cared and loved for by someone else. True, I had a nice corporate job with a company I’d been with for 7+ years that treated me well. I was a known specialist in my field with a high salary. I was able to provide for my family without worry. And I did return to work, but I started dreaming of working from home. I wanted it so bad I could taste it. But I couldn’t see how to get there. Months passed, and the universe is a funny thing, you put a wish out there and even if you’re reluctant to realize that wish, you’re forced to. Because inside, it’s what you want. The economy went down the drain within that year, business became slow, and I, to the surprise of many, became one of the expendable. It’s two years later and I have a thriving business from home in a related yet different industry. I can only look back and thank my ex employer for the opportunities her gave me to learn the skills I needed, to gain the experience I needed, to grow to the stage where I became the teacher, to be a leader and an adviser. And for firing me so i could move on to living my dreams and running my own business but most importantly to enjoy being present in my children’s lives everyday.

Now this is what I’m talking about Vanita. The funny thing is that we often are so afraid to let go of what we have, that we can’t accept or receive exactly what we want. And yet, its the only way forward towards our dream. The old ‘stuff’ of our life lives within the old state of mind or consciousness and the desires we have live in that new state that simply awaits our embrace. That is one impressive story my friend. Kudos to you. 🙂

  2. Beautiful message, Elle, as always. Synchronicity is huge in my life…something “happens” daily to remind me of the “unseen hands”..and I am always left in wonder, awe, and gratitude. I am excited to “meet” this woman you rave about 🙂

Hi Joy, what a wonderful life where you can see synchronicity on a daily basis. I love that about you dear Joy. 🙂

  3. Hi Elle, Oh this is a favorite subject of mine – I could go on for ages about the many things that have come about unexpectedly. There are still many, MANY things that I don’t have an answer to yet, and though I would really like to have those answers I am learning that what I must have most is faith and trust in the right outworkings of the whole shebang.

What area do you live in? You must have said somewhere but for some odd reason I’ve wondered that every single time I’ve read one of your blog posts recently. No idea why!

Hello Julie, it’s so cool that if we just keep out of the way and allow the universal laws of life to do their thing, all manner of wonderful things await us. Like you, I don’t have answers to the ‘why’ of it all, but I do know the ‘how’ of it, because I see it happening in my life and now I get to hear of all the wonderful things that occur in the lives of others too. It’s most definitely a beautiful world to live and operate in.

I live in Florida currently. I say currently because…who knows what my next desire will be! 🙂

I’m on the other coast Julie, Gulf of Mexico side. I came here originally because it sounded romantic and it was, I eventually met my Darling One here and he’s one of the reasons I’m the happiest woman in the world. 🙂

  4. Dear Elle,

I’m usually a very private person, but your blog has helped me come out of my shell a bit more each day. This is just one of my synchronous things that have happened in my life, that I’m grateful for.

I found out about your site through seeing a friend like ZEN Mama’s page on facebook, and I just instinctively liked it too, even though I rarely liked pages at the time or before. Through ZEN Mama, I found your blog when I needed it most. So thank you for that. But one other synchronous thing that I was going to mention was meeting a man, whom I now consider like an uncle and best friend even though we live half a world away. We met when I had been going through a tough time, and was actually advised to stay behind and not go a week early to visit relatives for a family event because of the tough time I was having. It so happened that when we arrived there early as planned, this man, a family friend who was leaving back to his home country soon and was going to be dropped off at the airport by my uncle, I believe, made a stop by my aunt’s house. We instantly connected, and I was shaken up by the experience for a long time afterwards because I knew it was fate. Usually I’m very shy about going out to meet people, but with him, I stopped what I was doing, and went out to meet him, and opened up. We started an email correspondence that got me through some really tough times with his wise advice. He also gave me confidence in myself.

I’ve always been spiritual, but I believe God, or my loved ones who are already passed – but whom I believe still look out for me, sent him to my family to help us. And now liking ZEN Mama’s page included, for her quotes always come at a time when I need them, too, as does my friend’s quotes on facebook. I read this in The English Patient, but it’s true: “Words. They have a power.” Thank you for this site, and I’m so thankful for everyone and everything that’s happened in my life, good and “bad,” because it’s brought me, or at least is bringing me, to a better place.

Welcome Happy One, isn’t it amazing how when we’re willing to ‘allow’ amazing and wonderful things can happen in our world. I’m so happy for you that you’re experiencing things that are bringing you confidence and friendship. Life most certainly is a beautiful and wondrous adventure. 🙂

  5. Elle, I pulled out my favorite thought — “The big ‘secret’ is in not knowing how the heck we’re going to get to where we want to go. And allow that.” It’s a bit like walking the plank, but I’ll trust anything you say! Thanks for the sage advice! 🙂

Victor you made me laugh out loud with your comment. The good news is that the same consciousness that created the Universe dwells in us and when we get out of the way, it can do it’s thing much more easily, so step out fearlessly my friend. 🙂

  6. Elle-

Reading your blog after being offline for the past month had me smiling and thinking ‘OH YES’. Just want to let you know that you continue to teach and inspire in only the way that you can. xxoo-Fran

It’s so lovely to hear from you Fran. I’ve missed your cheery words and would love to hear more about your trip…it sounds absolutely fabulous…a little like you methinks. 🙂

  7. Elle,
I haven’t thought about this quote in a long time. Thanks for the reminder! “a thousand unseen helping hands coming to support us.”

It has always happened that way in my life! 1000 hands. I think I’ll go cut out a thousand hands and hang them from my ceiling with names on them. Wouldn’t that be a great reminder?

Congrats on your visibility. You have a lot to share. xo

Nice to see you Tess, I know what you mean about that quote…it sort of appeared ‘out of the blue’…amazing that! Now another lol moment for me as I envisioned your named thousand hands…but I love the idea and reminder. 🙂

  8. Elle,

Very insightful post! When it comes to Synchronicity, it seems I have been on both sides. There have been times when I look back on my life in hindsight, and I am amazed of how far I’ve come with no real explanation for it. Several years ago I would have laughed if someone told me where I would be today. Also, I have been privileged to be able to help others when they have needed it. There have been times when I have shown up at people doors without having been asked, right at the moment when they needed help the most. I totally agree with you that we don’t always have to know the exact details of how everything is going to work out, in fact it would be impossible, we just have to be open to receive them when they come. Thanks again for the post!

Thank you Ben for sharing your experiences of synchronicity, or as some might say, the laws of life in action. I think it’s wonderful to be aware enough to be able to check in with ourselves and see what has been happening and whether we said yes or not, so kudos to you. Just the other day something came into my life that would help me and I almost said no because it wasn’t in the form I thought it should be. Amazing, how short sighted I can be sometimes. 🙂

  9. Elle, great story!

A few years ago, I manifested my perfect home. I am currently writing the story as a guest post for Melody Fletcher’s blog so you’ll be able to read it in full there.

But to cut a long story short, a number of “coincidences” happened and I found my perfect home within just 4 days!

    Happy manifesting everyone:-)

Hello Arvind, can’t wait to read your story…I love great manifesting stories and so appreciate you sharing. It’s so encouraging for us all. 🙂

  10. I saw your post and loved it. I have no Christian faith only a 12 step higher power and belief system. Despite this the most amazing things have happened this year in the depths of my despair heartache that left me reeling and crying for months and my desire to be happy. Basically I moved to a new house after a marriage breakdown that after I had moved into hated. At the same time I broke up with my boyfriend of a year. I wanted to work more too in my new career that I started since my kids are of school age.
I kept positive about my boyfriend to the ring of forget him because he ignored every attempt at contact. I prayed meditated and enlisted some spiritual help. After a year my boyfriend and I are back together because he is right for me. I moved to a house that is bang in the middle of my favourite beauty spot simply found with an off chance walk through an agents door and to boot found a huge amount of money at my disposal from the sale to do it up and make it habitable. The house was on the market for only 48 hours before I snapped it up. It is rare for such houses to become available so they are like gold dust!
And strangely…when I was over the trauma of the house move and huge building work my work suddenly picked up.
I don’t believe in forcing things. I tap into my faith. I work at the problem and I leave it. I need more work but again I try not to force myself of the world and I get by.
Today I had an old argument with my boyfriend and felt distraught that old cracks that caused us to break up before were forming again….but your site reminded me there is a third way. Do nothing. Feel sad. Let him stew and think and decide what he wants. I wont live on my own for the rest of my life is my new mantra. I just wont however wrong that sounds. One day my last wish will come true please God and I will share my life with a suitable man.
