The desire of gold is not for gold. It is for the means of freedom and benefit. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Would you dig?
If you knew that a hundred feet below you there was a huge, ginormous pot of gold, what would you do? If you’re anything like the rest of us, you’d probably start digging. But what if you only had a teaspoon to dig with? The gold is still there, but now it might take a bit longer. Maybe a lot longer.
Remember the seed time and harvest
Ready to give up? Does it get boring when another day goes by and you still can’t see what you want? When the gold hasn’t materialized how do you feel? Are you frustrated, annoyed, or just think it’s not worth the trouble?
The inner gold of life is what we’re digging for. It will bring you abundance in every form. Money, love, health and a happy spirit. And it all begins with a change of heart and a change of mind. But it has to be consistent to be of any value.
I’ve heard it said, ” Look, I did it. I changed my perception, I changed my habit of thinking, I changed my belief and yet…nothing in my world changes. So it can’t be me, it must be everyone else.”
Like all plantings, there’s a seed time and a harvest. As the poet Ovid said “Everything comes at its appointed hour.” And this is where persistence comes into play.
Never give up on your desires, unless of course you change your mind about what you want. Never stop digging for the deep reservoirs of gold you have within. You were created to be a successful, happy being. Don’t be the one who gets in your own way.
There’s only operator error
The law of life never fails, it cannot. Could you imagine the law of gravity failing? It does not, it cannot. Every day we operate the laws of life, consciously or not. All our consistent thoughts, feelings and beliefs become embedded in our subconscious to be played out in the theatre of life. The good, the bad, the sad and the ugly too.
Me, I’ve always preferred plays with happy endings…they feel so much better. Forever an optimist.
But best of all, the rewards are so great. How about personal power, success, abundance in all forms? You’d better hand me that teaspoon, I think I’m ready to dig!
Encourage each other.
Love Elle.

Very inspiring and uplifting, Elle. A timely reminder for me right now. Thank you :0)
Thank you Steven for all your kind comments…they are so appreciated and I’m very happy you enjoy my blog.
Thanks again Elle for the encouragement! I have a question – do you find, like me, that sometimes one desire materializes more quickly than another? Even though I feel I’m giving it the same amount of attention, the time it takes to come about varies. Why do you think that “harvest” is quicker in some areas than others? : )
In my humble opinion, it’s about beliefs, some of which are so deeply embedded that it takes much longer for new beliefs to outweigh them. And I have, like you, found some desires materialize really quickly. It’s not always easy to be self-persuaded, but isn’t it worthwhile?
Amazing article. Yes, we have to dig with the spoon sometimes, cause the expectation gives us wings to continue.. and the perspective of gold (=happiness) is our hope…
Nicely put Maria.
Yes, it takes time, courage, consistency, practice, diligence but honestly, I don`t mind. I love digging 🙂 It is not better to live with a positive attitude, with hope, optimism, love, passion, excitement, instead of with discouragement, sadness, frustration, disappointment?? So I love my little spoon which is by time it`s getting bigger and bigger. Yepppeeeee 🙂
Awesome messages Elle! Hope more and more people reading them every day…thank you with love and appreciation.
E 🙂
You are such an inspiration Emilia. I’m so happy your spoon is getting bigger every day. Let’s know what joyful things you dig up!
