For the next week or so my posts might seem a little shorter and maybe even a little more succinct, it’s because I’m currently a-travelling. I might even be at thirty thousand feet as you read this. Maybe it’ll turn out for the best…keep the stories shorter and get to the point Elle, might just be a thought you’ve been having…so, right you are!
I’m choosing to feel good about it…and that’s a perfect segue into a quote:
“The mood decides the fortunes of the people rather than the fortunes decide the mood.”
Winston Churchill.
For most of us we see our moods as the result of our experiences. Something happens and we feel, happy, sad, worried, ecstatic. But we forget that the law of reversibility works in all things. Just like electricity was once produced by friction and then it was discovered that the reverse was possible. So too, if you knew how you would feel to have your wish fulfilled, then you can, by choosing that feeling have your wish materialize.
Janet was a freelance writer. If she didn’t write, she wasn’t going to be paid. It was good, she got to do what she loved and it wasn’t so good, sometimes it was an awfully long time between jobs.
One night she woke up, shaking with worry and fear. All the what if’s came flooding into her head. We don’t need to go into them…we know what they are.
She had to stop…her thoughts were driving her crazy and she remembered this concept…what would I feel if my bills were paid and I had a big enough cushion to feel good about. She ran through a couple of feelings, happy…no…grateful…yes…but that’s not it. Relieved. That was the one. She’d feel a huge sense of relief.
Janet began to affirm ‘I’m so relieved’ and entered into the feeling. Eventually she fell asleep in the feeling of relief.
Next morning, she looked for the worry. It didn’t seem to be there. She was living in the same place, with the same bills, but it felt okay. No, she felt more than okay, she actually felt quite good. Wow, almost happy.
That night, she slept fine. The next day was the same…she felt…pretty good. And so it continued. Every night she fell asleep in the feeling of relief. And each day she felt…pretty okay.
Five days later she got a check in the mail, big enough to cover the bills for the month, with just a little to spare. It wasn’t exactly what she’d wished for, but close enough. She was relieved.
True story. Name has been changed to protect the innocent!
If we can imagine ourselves into a mood, we enter that state. It is your mood which decides your fortune, not your fortune that decides your mood. We attract what we’re feeling. May I make a suggestion. Find a mood that works with your desire, sustain it, and your desire must and will be fulfilled.
Let’s do it.
Encourage one another.
Love Elle
