[success]Where you are in consciousness has everything to do with what you see in experience. ~ Eric Butterworth[/success]

I’ve been asked if I could put the laws of life, as I understand them, in a nutshell.

So life in a nutshell…is this possible to answer?  The short answer is not really.  The long answer maybe a little, even though it’s only  a start…hey it’s a big topic.

Life in a nutshell short answer

“Thinking is learning all over again how to see, directing one’s consciousness, making of every image a privileged place.” ~  Albert Camus.

Long answer – It’s all about consciousness.  We aren’t going to drive our car around in first gear and nor should we do that with our consciousness.  Consciousness is all around, the powerful force of the universe and we may not be able to see it, or to touch it but we can activate it and use it to live a greater more ideal life.

Life in a nutshell short answer

“Imagination is the beginning of creation.  You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.” ~ George Bernard Shaw.

Long answer – First imagine what it is you want, then continue to imagine, then repeat the imagining, then do it again.

Don’t stop until what you’ve imagined is right there in front of you.  Fill your mind with the thoughts that you have this lovely thing you’re imagining, its really here and you’re excited, happy, relieved, elated.

Be so in love with what you’re imagining, you can hardly think of anything else.  You are filled with it.

Life in a nutshell short answer

“If you are dissatisfied with the conditions of life, there is no possible way of changing them unless you first change the state from which you view the world; for the state from which a man observes the world determines the world that man describes.” – Neville.

Long answer.

We see the world through the filter of our beliefs, through our awareness, through our consciousness.

We can’t say we want financial independence, health or a great relationship while constantly thinking how expensive things are, or how awful it is to feel so terrible, or that some of the relationships in our life are pretty yucky.

Wanting anything whilst being conscious of lack of them can only produce lack, because as we know we don’t get what we want, we get who we are and as all the great thinkers say, we are what we think about all day long…in a nutshell.

Phew.  There’s no way I can keep up with these amazing quotes…so now I’ve exhausted myself, it’s over to you.  It’s the good news, bad news syndrome.  The good news, it’s in our hands, the bad news, it’s in our hands.

That’s probably life in a nutshell.

Encourage each other.

  1. Inspiring post Elle.

It does come down to Free Will. We get to decide how to use the gifts (or not use them) we have been given. This leaves us feeling incredibly powerful or living in fear.

    My choice?

I want to own my life; not rent it.

I like your choice Alex…plus the way you put it…own your life, not rent it. Very cool.

  2. well put- I would add in asking- does it feel good, or will what I am doing now make my heart sing?

AS Alex says we have the choice grato

My question is are you shining your brilliance today?

  3. We do see it as a “big” topic – don’t we? Yet… this is about our lives … why is it such a complicated question?
Because … we aren’t trained to check-in with ourselves. We aren’t trained to ask these questions … Many go through their lives on auto-pilot … never really understanding how their lives work.
The answer actually is simple … it can be put in a nutshell – You get what you put your attention on … whether you like it or not, whether you are aware of it or not.

  4. What a brilliant statement:

“we don’t get what we want, we get who we are”

I have heard this statement couple of days ago and here it is again. There is no accident.. I have been repeating it to myself over and over again since. And who we really are is our thoughts and feelings.. I tend to forget it. Why? Because I am so busy with my life, making things to happen instead of imagining that they have already happened the way how I want them to happen…and let them to happen. It is supposed to be simple…but the daily practice is the key for success.

    Thank you!
    With love, E 🙂
