Your life is speaking to you loud and clear. Everything that happens to you doesn’t come from ‘out of the clear blue sky’, it doesn’t arrive by chance or accident or some kind of random design. Our relationships don’t one day go down in flames, our finances don’t suddenly go down the tubes and as for the goals we haven’t reached, someone isn’t magically moving the goal posts.
Life isn’t happening to us by accident. Life is a responder, it’s mechanical, and automatically delivers to us all that we’re aware of. Everything has its cause within us. And that’s absolutely everything. There’s no master puppeteer pulling our strings, our family or someone else isn’t doing it to us, there’s no outside cause at work.
I know it’s tough, but we can’t look anywhere outside of ourselves for the answer to what the heck is going on here? There’s no pre-destined fate lurking round the corner, hoping to catch us unawares…there’s only us, and we can trace everything back to our beliefs
Maybe you’re feeling bored or confused, or you’re a tad frustrated or worried or even sad, if so…listen up…your life is trying to get your attention. If things are going to hell in a handbasket, don’t ignore the feelings and experiences you’re having. If your relationships never work out…you’re getting a message…if you never feel safe or secure either financially or emotionally…another message. Feeling less than creative, totally uninspired…you guessed it…a message. Are you listening to your life?
These messages aren’t coming from outer space, they’re being delivered to you courtesy of the amazing universal web of consciousness in which we all dwell. It’s a pretty cool system.
It’s not by accident I call my blog Reflectingalife…that’s how life talks to us, mirroring us to us through each event and circumstance. Life operates in the same way all the time. It doesn’t take a day off, or say nah, don’t feel like reflecting stuff to you today, or I’m too busy to respond to you…work it out for yourself. It’s actually our little helper, giving us an accurate reflection of our choices, beliefs and patterns of thought.
Your life isn’t some theory or concept, it’s real, it’s happening now, you’re experiencing it now, and your reflections are filled with all the information you need to make decisions and choices about who you are, who you want to be and want you want to experience.
Listen to what life is telling you because it won’t, it can’t, mislead or lie, you can trust the truth that’s revealed. And it’s all good, it’s all okay, whatever it is that we see in our mirror, we don’t have to condemn or blame ourselves, even when the reflection isn’t really flattering, it’s just a reflection and not the entire truth about who we are. In my case, that’s a relief, phew! But best of all, we can change it if we want.
The current reflection only shows our vibration in this moment of time, this now. If the reflection is a problem then the same power that created it also has the solution…and it comes from the same place, within us. You’ve got to admit, that’s pretty cool.
Listening to our life is always done in awareness. How aware are you of the events you experience, especially the ones you don’t much care for? How aware are you of the people you meet, the relationships you have, the body you’re wearing, the success you experience, the money in the bank? Every one of these experiences is your life talking to you, giving you the information you need to make any changes you choose.
How to make changes? Where to begin?
This is where the most incredible gift we’ve been given comes into play. Our imagination. You can place anything in your imagination and I mean anything. It has no limits. It’s not limited by night or day, by time or space…nothing gets in its way. Everything we experience in imagination is a creative act.
[success] Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will. George Bernard Shaw[/success]Sleep is a natural doorway to our imagination, the doorway to our subconscious which is where all our creations take place. Knowing that all we experience comes from within ourselves we should always fall asleep in the happy place of having all our wishes, our desires fulfilled. Ask yourself what would I feel if I knew I were exactly who I wanted to be, if I had the success I desired, if I had the relationship that was perfect for me, if I were vibrantly healthy and abundant in all areas of my life?
And then fall asleep in that feeling. Nightly. You’ll be listening to your life…and…making it better.
Encourage one another.
Love Elle.

Elle,
Your posts are always so timely for me. I’ve been in the middle of transition for a couple of months. There are some things going on that won’t let go of me;) And I’m moving positively through them. All is well!
I know how that feels Tess, and since you are Queen of bold and fearless I can see you sailing through it all with flying colours. Keep us posted. 🙂
Elle….I feel like I’ve just read a chapter from a book. Your thoughts are right on target. If we use the messages that are in front of us, we can do the work and reap the benefits. Denial will keep us in pain.
How right you are that the reflection we see now is what is happening in that moment. The concept that ‘all is good’ is an important one. So many of us suffer shame for being who we are…xxoo-Fran
It’s amazing Fran how even little kids are taught to feel shame about who they are and how they feel, all the while not knowing what perfect little souls they are…and they’re just being kids. And when we take that into adulthood, it’s not an easy job to release it. But imagination is our biggest helper, followed of course by persistence.
Love your insights Fran, and thanks for being such a positive force in our conversations. 🙂
I love your post and the quote you added as well. I do think when we focus on what we need and want, it will come to pass if it meant to be. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great to hear from you Cathy…love the conversation that takes place here. It never ceases to amaze me how many of us are on the same journey, just taking different paths…but ending in the same place. 🙂
Hmmmm, Elle, I think this reflects well of where I’m at that I ended up on this post of yours! Life is speaking to me through you here. (I think it’s saying “See!?”)
Things have been going swimmingly, delightfully well of late, after a down period, and reading this I realize I haven’t been giving enough credit to the inner transformation underlying it all.
Quelle insight, Elle — I can’t wait to dive in and see more from that mind of yours!
Evan
Welcome Evan and it’s great to have you in the conversation. Love to hear more about how well things are going for you, especially now you can give credit where it’s due…to you and your new concepts. As I like to say…good job you. 🙂 Love your mission on your blog!
Well I am certainly getting messages but I am a bit uncertain as to how to interpret what I am receiving.
Hello Jack…this is what I do…if the events and experiences are complicated, which they often are, then check in with how it feels. If it’s not so good, then that’s a sign that it’s time to get your imagination working on your behalf and choose what it is that would feel better and keep your attention on that. It gets simpler as we practice…honest. 🙂
Wow, Elle, this is a great article. I just got out of a dark period during which I regretted a choice I had made, only because it led to a series of awful positions to which I did not belong. I mean, I brightened the place, but none were places for career growth. A flower can’t bloom in bad soil, so I had to leave prestigious positions and kind of start over.
Though the journey to the jobs was a blast, where it got me was not, so I am now going back to another option I had not really considered, but the universe granted it to me for a reason, so it needs consideration.
Well, that is where I am now. I am wondering lately what vibration says about health manifestations, like bad eyesight (nearsightedness) and some other issues like infertility. I’m constantly reading up on related topics every chance I get. I hope it is not the vibration of unworthiness, because I am worthy. I would not have gone ahead with aspects of my life had I not felt worthy. But then again, many women feel unworthy and still have children, so it can’t be that.
Anyway, thank you for this article.
Hello again Kat, nice to have you join the conversation. I’m happy you like the article.
Not that you’ve asked, but I thought I’d mention the way I deal with most things is to make sure I don’t stay focused on the why’s or wherefores of whatever’s happening…I manage the situation, much like you did with your career, and then assume I’m going to experience what I want, and stay focused on that.
I’ve had health challenges and aside from recognizing there’s something in my consciousness, I really didn’t care what the cause was. The only question I asked myself is, “what do I want” and once I’ve decided, I stick with imagining it until it shows up. Sometimes it’s pretty quick and sometimes it takes a little while…I don’t care…I imagine and continue to imagine and enjoy the inner experience, safe in the knowledge it will appear, unless of course I change my mind. And that happens sometimes too.
Everything Kat, as you know, is an inside job. Focus on experiencing your desire and allow your higher, inner self to do it’s job. It will. 🙂
Oh, Elle, where to begin! Love the new site, although I miss the little picture of you drinking tea 🙂 I love this post, it brings me joy and comfort. I was on a rocky road for the last couple of days, I was feeling not so great, and I just wouldn’t accept it, so I started digging deep, and discovering what it was that made me blue. All of a sudden, everything made sense again, and the clarity brought me peace. And today it came to me in this form: we have a habit of thinking “this is too good to be true”, but it really goes like this – “if this is too bad for me to accept as true, then I will change it, and I will keep changing it until it’s good enough to be true for me, to be my truth”. Thank you so much, Elle, you don’t even know how much you help me. You have a big hug coming your way 🙂
Lovely to hear from you again Ana and I’m happy you like this post. I *love* your affirmation and will definitely take all the hugs I can get. Thanks for all your positivity and bright sunshiney ways. 🙂
Listening is definitely something I need to refocus on. Part of that is recommitting to my meditation practice. Thanks for the reminder.
I hear you Galen. Having a house full right now it gets to be a challenge sometimes to keep the practices going, so thank you for the reminder that this is truly an important aspect of creating a richer, fuller life. 🙂
Beautiful post, thank you
And thank you Nikky44 ~ nice to hear from you again. 🙂
