Listen up: getting what you want isn’t necessarily an easy process for some of us.
Life can be a roller coaster, up down, stomach hurting, sharp bends and sudden changes.
You know that, I know that. We all know that.
But is there a simple solution to getting what you want, or at least more of what you want?
There really is.
In this article you are going to get a simple solution to getting more. Be it more health, wealth or even love.
The truth about getting what you want
It isn’t working harder, putting more hours into your day, or even learning new skills…though this may very well be a good thing. In fact if you are a driven, ambitious soul, pushing yourself to the limits, you’re probably driving away the very things you’re striving for.
Take a step back
It’s easy to get so caught up in the next project, or item on the to-do-list or how to get through the day with so much on your plate that you forget to do the one thing that will move you closer to getting what you want.
Appreciate.
Yes, I’m going to be talking about gratitude and appreciation. And even if you think you know all there is to know about this, stick with me. I think you’ll learn something new.

Getting what you want and gratitude
Think of it this way. When you receive something you feel grateful…it replaces any other feeling that you might have been operating in like say, resentment, or frustration or even doubt and fear.
This emotional signature of gratitude means that something good is happening.
Let’s be honest, how often do we operate on the emotional frequency of gratitude? I remember the times I used to wait till something good happened before I felt gratitude.
How about you? Do you wait until you get something, or do you practice gratitude habits every day.
No?
You really should. I’ll tell you why in a minute but first take a look at this:
A survey, funded by the John Templeton Foundation, showed that 94 percent of Americans believed that those who are grateful are more likely to live richer and fulfilling lives. But less than half were able to say that they felt gratitude on a regular basis.
What’s up with that? It’s like someone has offered us a richer, happier life and we say, nah, sorry can’t be bothered to accept it.
How gratitude is the simple solution to getting what you want
Well firstly it isn’t hard is it? We don’t have to learn anything new. We don’t have to carry a heavy load..we are simply asked to feel good.
How hard is it to feel grateful for the simple things in life?
Did you go to bed hungry last night? That’s a good thing.
Did you have clean water to drink? Gotta love that.
Do you have a home to live in, people who love you, those for you to love?
You get the picture.
So why does gratitude matter? And how does it relate to getting what you want?
Because of the magnetic field in which we all live.
We live in a magnetic field that’s measurable, and whatever thoughts and feelings we dwell in carry energetic messages. Different emotions have different sets of energetic frequencies that we are blasting into that field.
The field of possibilities.

The amplification factor
Getting what you want requires that you flip your mind to the frequency of your desire. This is how you create a map to your future.
Thoughts of fear or impatience or lack and resentment carry with them corresponding emotions and I bet you’ve already discovered that you rarely experience the best life has to offer when you’re in a state of stress or fear.
It works like this. Your thoughts send out your intent to this field of possibilities through an electrical charge and your feelings or emotions produce a magnetic charge that draws the experiences back to you.
The feelings you have are the amplification factor that if sustained transform your old reality to something new, because now you’re no longer an energetic, vibrational match to your past.
Pretty cool right?
So how to do this
Don’t wait until you get something before feeling gratitude. Switch to heartfelt gratitude and appreciation now and set up elevated possibilities in your world.
This isn’t a trivial thing. Practicing gratitude changes lives. If you begin today, you could easily be looking back years from now and see this as the day when your whole world took a turn for the better.
And here’s a couple of simple gratitude practices you can start to use right now.
The three good things practice. You can learn more about it here.
Basically at the end of each day take a couple of minutes and write down 3 things that you can to be thankful for. There’s even an app for this believe it or not. I’m not sure if it’s only available for IOS devices, but you can check here. (Three Good things App)
Another simple practice is to take a few minutes throughout the day to switch thoughts of worry or doubt or fear for joy and thankfulness. The more often you can sit in the elevated energy of gratitude the quicker and more easily the things you desire in your life will come your way.
The many benefits of living in an energy of gratitude
Health
Want to be healthier? Feeling gratitude for anything will help you get there.
There have been studies that say just as the immune system dials down when you’re connected to feelings of worry or stress, so it dials right back up when you’re in a state of thankfulness. And that you sleep better, good for those of us who have sleep challenges!
There are so many health benefits..repair and renewal of cells, genes for anti-aging, anti-nerve degeneration and so many more are turned on, basically changing your genetic destiny. It really is awesome stuff.
Love
On the energetic scales, gratitude is part of the love equation – gratitude creates a stronger feeling of connection to your partner.
Dr Brent Atkinson of Northern Illinois University believes that through gratitude we can rewire our brain to create this stronger connection.
For a few minutes each day practice the mental exercise of gratitude for the good times you’ve had with your partner. Before too long, it becomes part of your natural feelings about your relationship, strengthening your connection.
Wealth
This one works energetically just as much as the others. In other words your inner vibrational biology programs your outer world. And this is where change happens.
Sticking with feelings of lack or worry about money have an energy frequency that can never be concurrent with receiving anything other than more of the same.
You can’t affirm I have all I need, I am rich, I am healthy, I am in a loving relationship, whilst all the while your feelings are fearful or worried.
Synchronizing your energy of intention with a feeling of thankfulness, is the way to connect yourself to your new financial, or health or relationship future.
And that future begins to send signals back to you through new ideas or different actions you’re led to take.
It’s really not that tricky.
Final thoughts
As you start to dwell in the feeling of thankfulness, gratitude and appreciation those feelings begin to change your reality. As you think and feel produces effects and soon you’ll start to see yourself not as a victim of circumstances but more of a creator.
Why not test this out and see for yourself.
I wouldn’t be sharing this if I hadn’t done it and discovered how well it works.
And when you get to the place where your heart expands in your chest for no reason at all, a real heart woosh, then you know you’ve hit the sweet spot of gratitude and found a winning formula to activate your brilliant future.
You have this power. Your thoughts and feelings are always creating your reality, and the laws of identical harvest merely ask that you work with the feeling that you already have the thing you want.
And when it all comes together it seems like a miracle!

I absolutely agree with what you’ve shared: Don’t wait until you get something before feeling gratitude.
Thanks for sharing how it helps to practice gratitude first before manifestation truly works!
Hi Evelyn…I knew you’d totally get this!
I have found that gratitude has helped me overcome challenges and has helped me see the big picture. I like the idea of writing three things down that you are grateful for. I usually do this in the morning when I’m writing in my journal. Life is precious and reminding yourself frequently of all the things you are grateful for is a very healing practice.
I know you’ve been through a lot Cathy and it’s brilliant that we all have a simple practice such as gratitude to get us not only through the tough times, but bring more of the good times to us. 🙂
I couldn’t agree more! I want to live more and more in gratitude. Sometimes, I forget, but I’ve been keeping a list called “good things” each week, where I list the good things that have happened that week and feel gratitude and appreciation for them.
I love the ‘good things’ Sandra. I have been experiencing even more good things than usual since I started paying more attention to gratitude more frequently throughout my day. It really works and I do hope more people just try it out for themselves so they too can be amazed at the results. 🙂
Being Thankful and living in gratitude takes practice. But its SO worth it. This is such a welcome reminder 🙂
