It wasn’t a walk in the park to restore happiness when life was hard. But it is doable. Who hasn’t had the thought that life shouldn’t be this hard. I shouldn’t be struggling. Why me? How could this be happening? Why is this happening? I know I have had these thoughts and more. Life can be hard. We all experience hardship, challenges and pain. And some, sadly, experience more hardship than others in this world. Many people find themselves in situations where life is hard more than it’s not. I’ve been there more than once so I’m not advocating one size fits all when trying to restore at least a small slice of happiness in what often feels like an unjust world. I don’t know what your struggles are. What hardships of life you are currently experiencing. I have no idea whether you’re healthy or not, poor or not, have…

Why should you want to experience more gratitude in life? That’s the easy part. It feels good, and that’s a good enough reason for me. Although if that’s not enough for you, Dr. Rock Hansen, PH.D. tells you: Gratitude, gladness, and related feelings like appreciation are easy to dismiss, but studies in fact show that cultivating them has lasting and important benefits, including lifting your mood, increasing satisfaction with life, and building resilience. Whether you’re grateful for someone’s kindness or thoughtfulness , an appreciation of the beauty of nature, or maybe the acknowledgement of good things in general, gratitude matters. Gratitude is life enhancing. Every magical moment you’ve encountered in life is something to be grateful for. Think of the times you’ve felt gratitude in life, it plain old feels good. Right? And the beauty of gratitude is that you’re never too old, to young, too unhappy or too fearful…

We are designed to grow. But it isn’t always easy to let go of who you are and become who you want to be. Is it? And we make it harder to do so because we keep hanging on to who we are. We fall prey to our fears, insecurities and lack of worth all of which stop us in our tracks. Even when a part of you earnestly desires growth the conscious part of you might not be sure that this is a good idea. But change isn’t something we can prevent; life continues its onward journey and doesn’t stop for any of us. Progress will have its way. Personal growth does not always come easily, but you will never know what great things can happen unless you open up the space for new things. Before moving on to bridging the gap between who you are and who you…

At some point in life we all lose someone we love. It’s one of the most painful life events we have to deal with and in some ways we might never completely get over the loss. Getting back to happiness seems a million miles away. Almost an impossibility. And no one seems to be able to tell us how to cope right now. Today. Because that’s what we need to know. We all manage in our own ways. Doing the best we can do, for some of us grieving takes longer and that journey back to happiness doesn’t have the same date for us all. For anyone who can’t see their way out of the darkness that engulfs them, let alone ever taking that journey back to happiness, here’s my own, very personal story. May this help and support you if you’re in the middle of great loss and grief.…

“To begin to think with purpose is to enter the ranks of those strong ones, who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment. ~ James Allen” I have found 5 simple truths that lie at the heart of living successfully. And no they’re not the only truths, but working on the principle that there’s nothing special about me, then my assumption is that if these 5 truths work in my life then the chances are high that they’ll work for you too. I didn’t invent these principles. I have ‘borrowed’ just about all of them from people much smarter than me, so I think I can safely say that they’re a pretty good start to moving towards living successfully. Everyone has a lot going on these days. Life is complex and it’s too bad that it doesn’t come with an owners manual. Not that it really matters.…
