breaking free from worryLet’s start with a simple question…

When was the last time you were worried?

Five minutes ago? Yesterday?  Last week?  Last month?

I know you’d like to break free from worry.  But some days, and worse, some nights, our mind just won’t switch off.

And big or small, those worries cost us all.

We pay a price in lack of sleep, ill health, emotional pain and loss of vital life energy. All the while never coming close to solving the very thing we’ve been worrying about.

If you’re ready to fix that…here’s some ideas to help you.

Take a step back

It’s time to get clear that your mind is not you.  You are separate from it.

Don’t allow your mind to control your life, to create stories that cause you more worry or anxiety.

Once you see your mind as separate from you, you can speak to it as you would anyone who wasn’t you.

I’ve been known to tell my mind when it was troubling me during the night, that my body was peaceful, my spirit and heart were peaceful and it was time for it to join in and know a little peace.

It’s amazing how well that works.

Three Strikes and you’re out

This is the message to give to your mind.  Because all too often we get stuck in our heads.

We’re not present in the world as it is right now. We’re just hearing our mind tell us stories about our world…and even though they’re just stories, we take them pretty seriously.  Too seriously.

You can’t control every event in your life, but you can control the story you tell yourself about your experiences.

Remember just because you think it, doesn’t make it true.

So give your mind a chance.  Three chances in fact…to adjust the stories it’s telling or you’re going to shut it down.

Step back from your worry and fear

A large part of our lives is spent imagining the worst that can happen.

Step back from your fears and worries, and realize that one of the biggest inner battles you’ll be fighting is not what you are  worried about, but the very fact that you’re worried at all, and probably afraid.

If this is you, try to remember what you were worried about last year.

Any luck?

I know I don’t have any luck when I try that, mostly because our worries and fears are temporary.

So keep in mind that whatever worry is taking up your creative energy today,  the time will come when you will come out on the other side.

Practice inspired knowing

believe in yourselfLearn to place your attention on what’s right in your world and align yourself with the spirit of creative power within.

So instead of wishing or hoping for the results you want, in the deepness of your heart become aligned with what you desire, and know that it is on its way.

This sort of inspired knowing will help your mind extricate itself from the cycle of worry and fear that is the daily habit for so many.

And then you can be at peace with the timing, knowing everything has its appointed hour and your alignment and harmony with the creative power of the universe will generate not only the success you seek, but inner peace and maybe a miracle or two.

Final thoughts

The unreal is more powerful than the real which is why your worries are so powerful.  But your visions, your fantasies are powerful in equal measure.

It’s time to begin to believe that as much as your worries are focused on the worst possible outcomes, you have the same power to envision brilliant results.

Why not choose that instead?  Why not stop letting worry hold you captive and shift that energy to what you can create?

After all you are an instrument through which the creative life power flows. How amazing is that?

But worry dramatically limits the flow of life through you. It’s a form of resistance to the very magic and miracles that life holds.

Remove that resistance and this power has the ability to make an entirely new person out of you, to create an entirely new life.

This life power responds to those stories you tell yourself, your beliefs and your expectations.

You can do this my lovely.  You can break free from worry…starting right now…or at least diminish the level of worry you’ve experienced in the past.
