7 Reminders On Living Your Best Life.

I just want to say thank you.  Thank you if you’re still here, while I’ve been missing in action for the past few days.

If you’ve been imagining I’ve disappeared to a tropical island retreat, well nice thought.  Maybe you thought I’d just done a bunk and abandoned the whole idea of blogging.  Nah, I don’t give up that easily.  I’ve been doing something much more mundane and ordinary.  I’ve been taking some immune boosting therapies.  Apparently my immune system has been in need of a little help so it’s being taken care of.

But the tree in the image above is definitely like the one I used to perch on as a girl when we were on holiday in Mombasa, East Africa! Lucky me.

I did say it was more mundane than that.  But I’ve discovered, not quite so ordinary.  We’ll get back to that in another post.

In the meantime, here’s a few reminders on living the best life yet.

1. Put all your energy into making your mind a centre of positive, constructive thoughts.  Deliberately choose your words, your mental reactions, your moods.

2. Be really clear on a desire.  We can’t just want to be happy, healthy, wealthy.  What exactly does that look like for you, what does it feel like?  Get specific.  Don’t desire a million dollars, desire what you want to do with it.  Don’t desire happiness, desire the experiences you have from occupying the state of happiness.

3. Assume you have the most perfect ideas relative to that desire that produce the most good for many.  Years ago an impoverished Dr. Millikan created an affirmation for himself “I have a lavish, steady, dependable income consistent with integrity and mutual benefit.”  And yes, he got it.

4. Live in the end.  Experience mentally the desire in all it’s finished glory.  Bask in the enjoyment of it – you did it.  Hip hip horray.

5. Have faith that the power that gave you the desire also gave you its fulfillment.  As Rumi said “that which we seek is also seeking us.”

6.Frequently imagine enjoying your desire, especially in the morning when you wake up and at night before sleep.

7.Keep your mind tuned to the idea that the Divine power within you is doing it all, so you don’t have to pay attention to how it will happen, or the means needed to fulfill your desire. In fact remember that you have the easy part, just enjoying your desire mentally.

In other words keep on keeping on.

When I sit down most days to write about life and how it works for me and for you, I think of you.  Whether you comment occasionally or e-mail me or just stop by to read the latest bulletin, you’ve been a part of it from the beginning and I appreciate and pay attention to what you say.  Then I come back and blog again.

I just wanted to say thanks for being here.  Now I’m off to my island retreat…well in my mind.

Encourage one another.

Love Elle.

xoxo

    Hi Elle,
So glad you managed to take some time off. I think being sick is sometimes a way of telling your body you’re off course. I love your 7 tips. I totally agree that you have to be clear in your desires, not just wanting to win the lottery or anything. By the way, what is the therapy you did? I would love to know about it!

Thanks Betsy. It’s not always easy to know what we’ve been thinking or feeling, but boy when it shows up, it couldn’t be more clear. What an amazing system we get to operate. And I’ve been experiencing a little ‘operator error’ here!

Elle….You offer us wise words in this post.

I love the phrase ‘Keep on keeping on.’….

Am glad that you’re feeling better and are back BUT continue to take care of yourself…xxoo-Fran

  3. Julie says:

Welcome back! I can empathize – my “operator error” has been on the blink for about 4 months, on and off…moving into healthier times for us both, I hope 🙂

    • Elle says:

In my experience Julie it’s much easier to imagine something great for someone else…we don’t have our own doubts in the way…so I’ll imagine healthier times for you…and because it’s in my consciousness…I’ll experience them too. Win, win. 🙂

Hope your mental island retreat is rejuvenating. You put out great content, different from most and I certainly appreciate it and get a lot out of it. So ‘keep on keeping on’!

    • Elle says:

Thank you so much Harriet. I’m glad you participate in the conversation ~ and I truly appreciate your kind words. 🙂

Dear Elle, let me share my picture of you with you 🙂 serene, happy, wise, healthy, balanced, joyful, supportive, kind, beautiful, smart, lovely, strong, gentle, and (of course) sipping lemonade (or perhaps tea?) on a tropical island.

I was missing in action myself for a few days. My reason wasn’t important like yours though. I was just having a hard time concentrating. I decided not to push it and get myself all frustrated. I do hope the boosts you got will help you feel 100%.

Thank you for the excellent reminders !
    Write on, Elle !

I wonder why there are not many people who whistle or hum as they work. Is it that everyone is that miserable? I doubt it. I think we’ve become a society full of individuals who have shut out everyone else. Therefore there is no one to hear the whistling or the humming.
