I thought it was about time I shared some self-love quotes to support us all on our journey towards greater love for ourselves, because at the end of the day this is the way towards living a good life.
Have you noticed how very capable you are of appreciating others? Of loving others. Of having compassion towards others.
But when it comes to you. It doesn’t seem so easy.
Oh you might talk a good game about the importance of self-love and happiness. You might write great articles about it, you might teach others, you might even be a role model for family or friends…but…are you actively taking care of your needs? Are you actively practicing loving you, taking care of you?
Or are you worried that self-love or self-care means you’ll end up too big for your britches? Or you’ll become too selfish? You won’t you know.
You might be the most amazing person in the world, one who radiates love and compassion to all, and others feel blessed to know you. But it matters not a flying fig if you doubt your own value.
Please dear one, hear my words…you are deserving of a beautiful splendiferous life and of bringing your greatest, most wonderful self into being. Self-love is vital for you to support you in believing you are truly deserving of good things in life.
It isn’t too late.
You might not realize the power of words and the feelings they evoke in you can be life-changing, even totally transformative.
Dr. Andrew Newberg, Words Can Change Your Brain tells us:
The right words, spoken in the right way can bring us love, money and respect, while the wrong words…or even the right words spoken in the wrong way can lead a country to war. We must carefully orchestrate our speech if we want to achieve our goals and bring our dreams to fruition.
How you speak to yourself, how you view yourself and what you say to others about you has a direct influence on how you experience life.
If the words you speak to yourself tend to be negative, it’s more than likely that your experiences in life will be negative too. Your concept of yourself or the image you hold of yourself is important because if you want to experience different results in life, you must be able to see yourself as the one who has these results.
If I were to ask you how to treat other people, I bet you could tell me. And it’s likely your answers would be based on that golden rule from ancient traditions , such as that from the King James Bible: “All things whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, do you even so unto them.”
Most of us have heard this or some version of this from when we were children.
But what about you? How do you treat yourself? In fact how should you treat yourself?
Maybe checking out Jordan D. Peterson’s book 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos would give you a clue. Jordan says this:
Treat yourself as if you were someone you were responsible for helping.
Wow, that’s quite a statement, right?
Self-love is like being your best friend
Many of us were never shown or told how valuable we were. And our belief in ourselves became at the very least compromised and at the very worst never actually got started.
And this can wreck your life.
Think about it for a moment, how often do you treat yourself with kindness or the concern that you do for a friend who needs a little help? I bet you tell your friends and family that should they need your help you’ll be there. Are you as sympathetic to you when the problems needing to be handled are yours?
And how about the level of belief you have in others versus the belief you have in yourself?
But it is redeemable. You are worthy of self-love and happiness in your life and I want to share an excerpt from my latest book Using the Power of Consciousness which was recently published on Amazon. Link here. It might help you to understand why the way you view yourself matters in your life. It’s actually about self-love, although the phrase is never used.
Regardless of your circumstances, regardless of who you are now, when you change the way you see yourself, life will change with you. I’m telling you that it’s vital that you do this. And I want to be clear, it’s certain that you won’t experience anything you don’t believe is possible for you. Your present situation is a manifestation of your concept of yourself. This current image of yourself was brought about through the ideas you accepted and consistently believed over the years. And what’s worse is that over time those ideas became imprinted on your subconscious mind, and they now form the pattern for your life experiences.
Not experiencing self-love often means we resort to perfectionism to try to persuade others how great we are, in the hopes that we will be liked and seen as worthy.
Yet, your awesomeness lies not in how others see you, but in how you see yourself.
Once you begin to embrace who you are, you create a space for genuine relationships, greater happiness, and wonderful success.
There’s no need to pretend, there’s only the need to believe in you. And I want to be clear, it’s certain that you won’t experience anything you don’t believe is possible for you.
But know this, you are deserving of love and respect and being valued, not only by others, but most especially by you.
So here’s some self-love and happiness words that I hope you can use to change the way you see yourself and your life experiences for the better. I hope they are words that will inspire and impel you to begin speaking more kindly and compassionately about yourself and your life.
