No-one ever said life would be easy. Right?

But no-one ever said it would be really, really tough either.

And when one of those tough times turns into what seems like an incredibly tough life, it’s hard to notice there is a bright side, let alone look on it.

It’s hard to stay optimistic when you feel so flipping miserable and your mind starts working overtime, magnifying every negative thought you’ve ever had.

When life is tough and keeps bringing you down, of course you can’t find your keys, of course you miss your train or your bus and of course everything gets worse as time goes by.

Believe me, I know.  I’ve been that person.

I remember the days when I wandered around in a fog of fear and worry and misery and wish I’d never crawled out of bed at all.

Sometimes it seemed as though nothing ever went right and worse no one noticed or seemed to care.

If anyone did notice maybe they suggested it would be good to relax a little. To take time and breathe maybe to meditate. Because these were the things that helped them.

But what worked for others doesn’t necessarily work for us.  Yet we need something that helps us to see that the whole world really  isn’t against us.

That the Universe isn’t conspiring to make life tougher every day even though there are plenty of days when it feels like that.

And just to remind you that Life in general and the Universe in particular is on your side here’s 11 quotes that I hope will inspire you when life is tough and keeps bringing you down.

Because truth be told…we’ve all been there.

  1. Beautiful! Number 7 really speaks to me. We’re all on Urgent Pilot. This is the stress that we create for ourselves. We need some moments of silence each day to hear ourselves, to reconnect, to refuel, to reground, to refocus, to de-distract.

    • Isn’t that the truth Harriet. So much stress we experience is self imposed. 🙂
